Synopsis & Film Details
The 14th Annual Fresno Film Festival, presented by Fresno Filmworks at the historic Tower Theatre, will feature seven exclusive feature-length movies and two local award-winning short filims representing 13 different countries, including special filmmaker appearances and Q&A discussions. The festival is made possible by the generosity of many community sponsors and current Filmworks members.
Tickets for individual programs cost $10 general and $8 for students and seniors; festival passes cost $50. Tickets and passes can be purchased online and at the Tower Theatre box office, 815 E. Olive Ave. Assistive listening services are not available for these films.
FRIDAY, NOV. 2

We The Animals
Three brothers tear through childhood in this visceral and immersive coming-of-age drama, an award winner from Sundance. With opening night champagne reception to follow.
Featuring a video Q&A with filmmaker Jeremiah Zagar.
SATURDAY, NOV. 3
PROGRAM #2 — 1:30 p.m.
Birds of Passage
A daring drug-running epic from Colombia that explores a culture’s dwindling resistance to assimilation when faced with the temptation of wealth and power.
PROGRAM #3 — 5 p.m.
I Am Not A Witch
An instant classic of New African Cinema, this comic, tragic, captivating tale from Zambia plays as an evocative satire of childhood innocence.
PROGRAM #4 — 8 p.m.
Memoir of War
A stirring adaptation of the Marguerite Duras novel, recounting a romance torn apart by the upheaval of World War II in Nazi-occupied France.
SUNDAY, NOV. 4
PROGRAM #5 — 1 p.m.
Styx
The ocean itself is transformed into a villain in this drama from Germany, as one woman realizes she cannot save a group of shipwrecked refugees.

El último traje (The Last Suit)
A comedic drama from Argentina that follows an aging Holocaust survivor’s journey to reunite with a long lost friend in Poland.
