Synopsis & Film Details

The German comedic drama Vincent will meer (Vincent Wants to Sea) tells the story of an unlikely trio of runaways. Vincent suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome. After his mother’s death, Vincent’s politician father institutionalizes him, but he ultimately escapes with two fellow patients—an anorexic named Marie and the obsessive-compulsive Alexander. Vincent’s mission is simple: He wants to honor his mother’s dying wish and release her ashes into the seas off Italy. To get there, Vincent and his friends steal their doctor’s car. The film won the Audience Award at the 2010 Bavarian Film Prizes. In German, with English subtitles.

In the comedy Dead Happy, the Grim Reaper becomes bored with her job while trying to cope with her unrequited love for
another. Afterward, join the Fresno Filmworks board in welcoming visiting filmmakers and the public to the festival. Admission to the party is included with a festival pass or with general admission to the opening night film. The party, catered by The Painted Table Catering Company will include hors d’oeuvres and champagne at the Tower Lounge adjacent to the theater. The group Groove Monkeys will provide entertainment.
