Paris-Manhattan

Synopsis & Film Details

A darling of the festival circuit, the French romantic comedy Paris-Manhattan tells the story of Alice, an offbeat Parisian pharmacist from a Jewish family who has a life-long fixation on Woody Allen and his films. She has a huge portrait of him hanging in her bedroom, with which she tends to converse and seek counsel. She even hands out DVDs of his movies to her customers as medicine for their ailments. Alice’s parents have a sense of urgency for her to find a man—but none can match Woody Allen, not even Vincent, the perfect guy from the neighborhood, or Victor, the alarm specialist who services the pharmacy. Alice finally decides to take action, based (of course) on her favorite filmmaker’s advice. In French, with English subtitles.

With short film Flight of the Tortoise
The romantic comedy Flight of the Tortoise tells the story of Doron, a 30-year-old teenager who has always lived in the Kibbutz in relative peace with his mother, Soshanna, and his pet tortoise, Yehezkel. But when his older brother’s big-city girlfriend stays at the house to redecorate, she will change more than Doron expected.
