Our featured video this month for the American independent documentary “Levitated Mass” introduces us to a natural spectacle: the 340-ton granite boulder that serves as the protagonist in Doug Pray’s film, which documents the unlikely collision of art, engineering, and nature as seen through artist Michael Heizer’s massive land sculpture at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Some of the photos were made by one of our former interns, Olga Verkhotina, who now lives and works in Southern California. The video is now airing on our YouTube channel.
Rebecca Horwitz earned her B.A. in theatre from UC San Diego. She volunteers as a marketing assistant for Filmworks.
