Our friends at the Fresno Philharmonic have a special treat planned Aug. 15 and 16 at the Fresno Art Museum: Summer Soirée 2.0, a must for fans of dance, music, art and film.
Summer Soirée began last year as a first-ever collaboration between the Fresno Philhamonic and the FresNO Dance COllective at the museum. This year, NOCO creative director Amy Querin and her crew have created a new dance work set to Michael Nyman’s “String Quartet No. 2,” to be performed live by members of the Fresno Philharmonic. Nyman’s music is familiar to film fans from his many scores for films by Peter Greenaway (“The Draughtsman’s Contract,” “Drowning by Numbers,” “The Cook, the Thief,” “His Wife and Her Lover,” etc.) as well as for films such as “The Piano,” “Gattaca,” “The End of the Affair” and “Man on Wire.”
Buy tickets here or call the Fresno Philharmonic box office at 559 261-0600. Seating is limited.
