Have you ever wondered: Are zombies capable of love? Filmworks will try to answer that potentially terrifying question on Friday, Oct. 10 when it presents the romantic comedy “Life After Beth” at the historic Tower Theatre. Two show times: 5:30 and 8 p.m. Featuring young stars Aubrey Plaza and Dane DeHaan, the American independent film tells the story of Zach, a young man who tries to continue dating his girlfriend Beth after she comes back from the dead.
From the critics:
Geoff Berkshire of Variety says the film “blends smart fantasy elements, broad comedy, tender romance, and an atypically slow-burning apocalypse, the directorial debut of Jeff Baena (“I Heart Huckabees”) is charming, thoughtful and laugh-out-loud funny.”
On our Film Forum blog:
Volunteer Rebecca Horwitz introduces us to Aubrey Plaza through a series of deadpan interview clips. And inspired by “Life After Beth,” volunteer Analise Villalobos directs our latest featured video, featuring a young man who has to keep a close eye on his undead girlfriend.
