The 26th annual Fresno Reel Pride Gay and Lesbian Film Festival will bring more than 50 films from all over the world to the Tower District from Wednesday, Sept. 16 through Sunday, Sept. 20. Fresno Reel Pride attracts thousands of attendees from across the central San Joaquin Valley each year.
This year’s festival — on social media as #ReelPride26 — continues to celebrate LGBTQ cinema by engaging the community on the issues of understanding and acceptance. The festival opens with the dark comedy “Addicted to Fresno,” directed by Jamie Babbit and featuring an ensemble cast led by Judy Greer and Natasha Lyonne. The festival closes with the surreal drama “Tangerine,” the energetic story of an L.A. sex worker that was innovatively shot entirely on an iPhone.
Among the many other highlights of the festival:
• The French drama “The New Girlfriend”
• The Chilean love story “In the Grayscale”
• The indie rock documentary “The Glamour & the Squalor”
• The linguistic mystery tale “Do I Sound Gay?”
