Celebrating 10 Years and Counting at the historic Tower Theatre, the 2014 Fresno Film Festival starts Friday night, April 25 at 7 p.m. with the Japanese family drama “Like Father, Like Son” followed by our Opening Night Reception.
The 10th annual festival, presented by Filmworks, runs this Friday through Sunday, and it features 19 films from 11 different countries. Check out the full lineup as well as these last-minute announcements and reminders:
• Festival passes, T-shirts, and tickets are available for pre-sale on our website. Passes cost $45, T-shirts cost $15, general admission tickets cost $10, and student/senior tickets cost $8. Package deals and discounts are available online.
• Filmworks welcomes the following visiting filmmakers to the festival, as part of our Short Film Competition: from “Butterfly Dreams,” writer/director Venkat Krishnan and executive producer Alamu Venkat; from “Young Americans,” producer Alejandro Torrejo; from “Finding Me,” director Richard Card; and from “Ghosts on the Mountain,” director Jared Jenkins.
• Filmworks also welcomes the following discussants to the festival, as part of our community Discussion Circles: anthropologist Dr. Kao-Ly Yang after “The Rocket”; and photographer Ryan C. Jones after “Finding Vivian Maier”.
