An update: Filmworks summer break
Sent to mailinglist subscribers on July 19, 2016
For the first time since our founding in 2002, the Fresno Filmworks Board of Directors decided to take a summer break this year to re-charge and do some strategic planning.
In June we engaged in an all-day retreat with longtime Filmworks supporter Paul E. Pierce, who facilitated our board development work. Thanks to him, revitalizing our strategic plan was actually fun. We are deeply indebted to Paul for helping us renew our enthusiasm for the years ahead!
Now, in July and August, we are preparing for our fall season and the 2016 Fresno Film Festival on Nov. 11-13 at the historic Tower Theatre. Our program committee is researching the best films available for the festival and previewing lots of full-length movie screeners. And our development and marketing committees are hard at work in preparing for our festival sponsorship drive and year-end membership drive, as well as long-term planning for youth and community outreach, media partnerships, and social media strategies.
Mark your calendars for our fall season opener: Friday, Sept. 9 for the Palestinian drama “The Idol,” inspired by an incredible true story. And check out our new blog feature, Streaming Surprises, where our board members share some of their favorite movies available on streaming services. See you soon,
